Top Skills

With this new feature you can view the most skilled players of any category. Who's the best spell thrower? The best club fighter? Even the best fisherman?

You can find this new feature in the top menu "Highscores".



Extra features

If you have a registered TibiaHof account you can log in and receive suggestions on which worlds and skills to search on, based on the players that you have connected to your account.

It's very simple: if your highest level is connected to the world Secura and is of vocation Royal Paladin, it will suggest a search on the world Secura and the skill of distance fighting, like so:



Beta Status

This feature is currently beta status, so it's currently being tested and improved on. If you have any opinions about this new feature, please let us know in the comments below or via the feedback form!

We hope you had some good holidays so far. Here at TibiaHof we are working hard with rolling out some improvements to the website. With this said, we got some goodies for you

Character Deaths in profiles

Last week we wrote about character deaths and how they will be appearing in activities.

This week we are adding character deaths to profiles! With this information in hand, you can find out:

• How many times has the character died?
• Which player has killed the profile player the most?
• Which creature has killed the profile player the most?

Characters deaths will date back to when TibiaHof started recording this information.

Minor Fixes

Several minor fixes have been implemented in the last few weeks as well.

• Added new outfits (Dream Warden, Cave Explorer) and new mount (Shockhead) to character profiles.
  
• Avatars uploaded via the forum are now displayed correctly.
• Added guest logos to the archives.
• Backgrounds are now slightly darker, to make reading easier.
• Added a new box to user profiles, which lists all players that are connected to the user.
• Several minor bug fixes and improvements to the graphical interface.

We are now looking back at the year 2013 and all the things that it had to offer.

Here are the highlights from the year!

January

• TibiaHof becomes a supported Tibia fansite on 29th of January!

February

• Introduces the Server Save page that you can send to your friends.
• Introduces the Image of the Month with highlighted images uploaded by our users.
• Introduces the simple image preview to make viewing images easier than before.

March

• Release of the open beta chat (which was subsequently cancelled in December)
  

April

• Introduced a new tool to allow uploading of multiple images at once.

May

• The entire site was graphically redesigned with added polls.
• A short while after the redesign we added the Rashid page.

June

• Not a lot going on in June due to summer update!

July

• Introduced tabs and Tibia.com articles to the start page to make navigation simpler.

August

• TibiaHof started using Facebook and Twitter!

September

• Introduced the new feature Activity Timeline.

October

• For this entire month we were running our fansite item competition, a very exciting time for the fansite!
• Introduced the forum

November

• The winner of the fansite item competition was announced (it was Ark11 with the item Jade Amulet.
• Introduces the new feature Badges.

December

• Introduced an additional feature to the characters activity page: character deaths.

2014?

With 2013 almost behind us, we are planning for the upcoming year 2014. We are still waiting for the fansite item to be implemented into the game.

We are also planning to have more competitions which will focus on other skills than graphical design, for example writing and coming up with stories.

We also have a couple of bigger projects in store, but we'll let you know when we get there

Here at TibiaHof.com we are proud to present a new feature: character deaths.

That's right, activities will now also include character deaths. Here's an example of how it will look like:



As you can see the sudden death rune indicates a character death. It will display up to 4 deaths in one activity.

Minor change

Another minor change to the site is that we have introduced a new icon that links to the tibia.com website.

For example, the tibia favicon in the image below will link to the characters page on tibia.com:

We have changed several things on the site.

No more chat or languages

This might be a little controversial, but we have decided to remove the chat and translations to other languages of the website.

Since the forum was introduced we realized that there was no use for the chat anymore, and that's why we removed it.

As for translations, we will not support any other language other than english at this moment. This is because we want to profile the website as an english fansite where the main spoken langauge is english. You can still post in other languages, but we will not actively pursue the translation of the website (of course, you are still free to use built in translators).

Forum improvements

The forum has been improved, in some places it will load up to 5-6 times faster than before!

We have also added badges to the forum memberlist, so you can get a nice overview of what users have received badges.

Some users have tried mass voting in the most recent poll. This is not allowed and votes that are tagged as "fake" are removed within 24 hours. Also, users that do these kind of things will be blocked from voting in future polls and possibly other things as well.

Thanks to all who participated in the fansite item competition! Picking just three out of over 100 submissions was a very difficult task, but we are happy with how unique the items were and how imaginative the Tibian community can be.

What are Badges?

A badge is a proof that you as a Tibian player and TibiaHof user has achieved greatness - whether it be winning in one of our contests, achieving status on the site, being in the highscores, etc.

What do they look like?

The badge is a 32x32px image icon. Each badge image is unique and is displayed on several places on the site; such as on your personal profile, forum posts, community pages, and more.

Badges looks like this:



Only five badges can be displayed at each time. For example, up to 5 badges will be displayed on your user profile.

How do I mine a badge???

By the end of every month we create badges that we distribute to users, as well as announce it in a news article. We only generate a limited amount of badges at a monthly rate, usually 5-10 badges.

You are most likely to gain badges the more active you are in the community.

What kind of Badges are there?

There are basically five types of badges:

• Super Rare - only one badge of this kind exists
• Rare - 2 to 9 badges exist of this kind.
• Semi-Common - 10 to 29 badges exist of this kind
• Common - 30 to 49 badges exist of this kind
• Very Common - 50+ badges exist of this kind

Future?

The three winners of the fansite item competition will win one badge each:


Each such badge is Super Rare, i.e. they are unique and thus there is only 1 of its kind.
